We credit check all your commercial debtors when you pass them to us to assess their ability to pay. We can also provide a detailed credit report on request.
We also offer all our clients our monitoring service on any companies that you are trading with. This informs you of any adverse information which can alert you to future problems in your business relationship.
If your customer has absconded, we are fully accredited and licenced to find and approach them on your behalf. Our level of data protection ensures that we are fully compliant with all aspects of debt recovery whilst achieving maximum trace results.
We send letters every 14 days and make the first phone call within 24 hours of you joining our debt recovery service. We make calls during the day, evening and at weekends where applicable, send texts and email messages.
Non co-operation will result in one of our Field Agents going to their offices.
Detailed Management Reports are provided so you are regularly fully appraised of our progress on all your overdue accounts.
You can take advantage of the Late Payment of Debt Act August 7th 2002 by adding debt recovery fees (compensation for using an outside agency) and interest at 8% above bank base rate - currently 8.5%.

Domestic Debt

We trace and credit check all your debtors when you pass them to us to make sure we have their current address and we assess their ability to pay.

If we can not find them immediately we will offer our monitoring service which will alert us when they pop their heads up.

Overdue Account Service
A sale is not a sale until you have your money!
The goods have been delivered or the service used and the
invoice has been sent too. But, your debtor has still not paid. Let's assume that
your terms are 30 days and your debtor still hasn't paid after 60 days. Assuming
that you know they've already 'accepted' your invoice, and that they've never raised
a query or dispute, they're using you as an interest free overdraft facility.
That's when third-party intervention can play its role in the escalation process.
We will act, in our own name, where we'll first assess their credit worthiness,
or their ability to pay. Then, armed with this crucial information, we'll call them
to negotiate payment of your invoice, plus Late Payment Act interest and compensation.
This will ensure that your invoice gets priority over their other unpaid bills,
and we'll educate them to pay on-time in the future.

Proactive collection by telephone
By far the most important step in collecting debt is contact with each debtor by
phone. Our team of highly skilled collectors use all methods of persuasion at their
disposal to ensure maximum returns for their clients. Excuses are overcome and disputes

Dedicated Account Manager for each Client
Clients have a dedicated Account Manager so that they know who is dealing with their
debts at all times. Each Manager is highly trained. They research the background
to each matter and apply the most appropriate course of action. Useful advice and
guidance can therefore be given to clients at each stage of collection.
Regular Progress Reports
It is important clients are aware of what action is being taken on their cases and
are kept informed of progress throughout. Our automated system ensures this happens
in every case. Clients are notified on each case as developments occur and receive
monthly reports on their entire portfolio of debt placed with us for collection.
Reports can be requested and sent within minutes at all other times. An annual report
is sent out prior to the anniversary of joining with ACS, this enables you to make
the decision to stay with us or not depending on whether you think we have achieved
satisfactory results - we are currently retaining 98% of our customers, so we must
be doing something right.
Full range of Credit Reports
Reports range from full in-depth comprehensive reports including full accounts and
credit ratings through to simple registered office information.
If you are offering credit then you are gambling with your business. It is important
to gain as much information about your customer's finances before going down that
path. We give immediate access to all limited companies, non-limited companies and
PLC's. For individuals we can check on their ability to pay and to check on their
credit history. You can then consider the appropriate credit limit and payment terms
for your new or existing customer.
Tracing Debtors
Your debtor is no longer at the address that you sent your goods to or where you
sent your invoice. We can trace your debtor's new address, and check that they have
the assets to pay your bill. With this knowledge we will then advise you of the
appropriate way to recover your debt.

Debtor Visits
If your debtor ignores our letters and phone calls then a personal visit is going
to be the most effective way of getting through to them - it's not easy to ignore
our debt collectors on the doorstep.
We have our own in-house debt recovery agents who visit debtors. We have built up
a network of agents across the country for the purposes of recovering monies. If
need be, we will re-visit on a weekly or monthly basis to collect instalments.
Our experienced debt collectors are able to search our extensive databases to trace
your debtor's new address and check if they have the assets in place to pay your
bill. With such knowledge our debt collectors will be able to advise you on what
form of action is appropriate for the debt recovery.
We also use the same agents for the purposes of serving legal process i.e. statutory
demands and bankruptcy petitions.
